An hour later, Liz and Lucky are sitting on the patio at Kelly’s. Liz is sipping her soda as Lucky stares intensely at her. Liz refuses to meet his gaze. Lucky sighs, exasperated. "We need to talk about this, Elizabeth."

Liz nervously bites her straw. "I know."

"Why would you turn to a Cassadine for help? Of all the people you could turn to, why him?"

"Lucky, I don’t want you to be angry at me. The simple truth is Nik is a Cassadine. That’s why I went to him. Look, we’ve been trying to do this on our own, and we’re getting nowhere."

"I wouldn’t say we’re getting nowhere, exactly…"

"Lucky, face it. Our plan isn’t working. I chickened out that time in the park, Murty took the recorder from me at my first session, and at the second session, the sound quality wasn’t that great. Nikolas has access to better stuff than we do. He can get those fancy bugging devices that I’ve only scene in movies! I need Nikolas," Elizabeth says strongly. She watches as Lucky’s face falls. "We need Nikolas."

Lucky shakes his head. "There has to be a better way. I don’t trust him, Elizabeth."

"He’s your brother, Lucky, whether you accept him or not. He’s not going to hurt you or me."

"He’s a Cassadine, Elizabeth! They eat their young! Family means nothing to them."

"If it meant anything to you, you’d make up with your parents," Elizabeth retorts.

Lucky lets out a slow, deep breath. "No fair hitting below the belt, Elizabeth," he says softly.

"I’m sorry," she whispers.

"You know why I won’t make up with them. You of all people know why."

"Lucky…."

"Listen, my parents have nothing to do with you running to a Cassadine behind my back!," Lucky exclaims. "Don’t change the subject."

"I went behind your back because I knew you’d react this way! Lucky, I did it for us." Elizabeth starts playing with her straw. "The only reason I went to Nik was so that we could finally get Murty. I know that once he’s in jail, I’ll be able to move on…. Maybe then I won’t get scared if you hold me too tight, or cry myself to sleep if someone looks at me funny. I don’t want to be scared anymore, Lucky. I want to be like any other ordinary girl."

"What fun is ordinary? We’re extraordinary. We’re originals. Normal and ordinary are two words I’d would ever use to describe you or me." He smiles. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."

"You know what I mean," she cries, frustrated. "I want to be able to kiss you, and not think twice about it. I think Nikolas providing this security stuff is the best way to get evidence against Murty. I won’t feel free until he’s in jail." Elizabeth sighs. "I want to be free Lucky."

"You really believe that Nikky’s help is the only way to be free?" Elizabeth nods. Lucky looks at her wistfully. "Only for you would I work with a Cassadine. Only for you."

Elizabeth beams. "Oh, thank you so much, Lucky! You have no idea how much this means to me."

Lucky nods. "I really don’t like this."

"Duly noted," Liz smiles. "If there were any other way to do this Lucky, I’d do it. I don’t want to risk hurting you by working with Nikolas. I’d rather die than hurt you."

"Don’t talk like that. Neither one of us is dying anytime soon, ok?" Elizabeth nods. Lucky grins. "Good." He glances at his watch. "Your shift starts in 5 minutes. You should probably get in there."

Liz leans over, giving Lucky a peck on the cheek. "Walk me home later?"

"Of course. I’ll see you later," Lucky replies, watching as Elizabeth walks into Kelly’s. He throws some money down on the table and walks away.

"Only for you," he mutters under his breath.
